Post Wiring DVCs In A Series?

I am not even sure this is feasible, but it seems my only option for the currect predicament. I am helping my friend put some speakers in his car, he has no amp, and a standard 4 x 20 rms cd player. Everything works fine, the problem lies in the speaker choice. They are 50 rms 6 1/2 DVCs, and according to the company's website, 4 + 4 ohms. The website also says the speakers are 50 + 50 rms, but the back of the speaker is clearly labeled 50 rms, I'm not sure what that is about, and for all I know it is the same thing.

Parallel wiring would therefore bring the load to 2 ohms, and I'm pretty sure the headunit wouldn't be able to handle that, therefore wiring it in a series seems to be the only course of action.

There seems to be two possible wiring options with the 4 terminals, but there is only one that is near understandable in writing.

There are four wires, a + and - for each the L and the R. I was thinking of running both the +s each to a terminal on the first speaker, then running a jumper from each of the -s on that speaker to the +s on the next speaker. Lastly I connect the -s from the reciever to the - terminals on the second speaker.

The only problem with this is now the load is at 8 ohms, and I doubt that there will be much power pushed to the speakers. But does my setup make any logical sense? Also are there any alternatives to my problem? Thanks for your time,

Nila
