Default pre outs on a ls400

i have a 90 ls400 with the stock pioneer system... i was wondering if it has an pre outs to which i could hook up an amp and subs to?

There are no pre-outs on the stock system.

You can use a line level converter (or the many variations of this unit) which takes output from one of the speaker channels and reduces it to a lower power level to input into an amp.

Some people have had good luck with these, personally I did not as I tried to use the output wire from the stock subwoofer which is around 35W and gave me terrible quality sound.

If you really want to go this route, try to use the wires from one of the door speakers as these have less power running through them.

An aftermarket CD or DVD deck is your best bet *especially* on the 1990 LS because there is not an amplifier to the door speakers. This means if you use a real CD deck with preouts you can safely use the stock door wires to the door speakers and run RCA cables back to the trunk for subs or whatever else.
