The alarm brain is one and the same as the door lock brain which is located under the driver side dash near the steering column. If you can get ahold of a wiring diagram (Available with a $25 subscription to Alldata DIY) you can cut the wire for the hood or trunk open sensor and then ground the wire going into the alarm control box. The alarm will never arm if it believes that either the hood or trunk is open. This is probably not the best or most efficient method, but worked for mine. Remote start works great now!

I just got a DEI Python 880XP installed and the remote start keeps triggering my factory alarm. I would like it to work like VSsc400's does where I can remote start it from a distance (to run the AC or heater) but it would stay locked until I pressed the button on the key.

Im taking it back into the shop on Wednesday, any suggestions on how I should approach this?

If it works like kklotz says, then this should be a simple fix. The hood open/close sensor is very visible, on the driver side fender on my car, simply unplug it, and the car should always think the hood is open, wala. Just an idea based on what ive read here, but wouldnt that do it?

if you unplug the hood connection, how would the aftermarket alarm detect a theif opening your hood?

if the alarm didnt suck the motion/vibration/jar sensor would detect it. Alot of cars dont have a hood open/close sensor. Obviously this isnt the best way to fix the problem, but It is probably the easiest.
