Default Complete stereo system makeover w/pics

I've had my stereo system done for a while now, but am just now getting around to taking some pics for you guys. Here's the specs:

Alpine 7894 head unit
Alpine V12 (with 4 ga. and Monster Cable RCA minis) 5+1 amp 50wx4 and 150x1
Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.5" with tweets up front
Infinity Kappa 6.5" rear fills
JL Audio 10IB4 in stock sub location

All this is hooked up to XM radio and the antenna is mounted on the trunk lid in between the rear glass and my 97-00 spoiler

To fill the space in leftover from the removal of the stock head unit, I took a piece of plexiglass and painted it black on the back of it. I then had "LEXUS" and the symbol laser engraved on the front ($20). I was going to leave the letters clear and have a green neon shine through (like Silverbolt's car), but due to the thickness of the plexiglass, the words looked like they were almost floating (for lack of a better word). This piece is only temporary until April when APEX releases their S-AFC version 2. I will then put the SAFC in place of the plexiglass.
Hope you like the pics

The weather finally got nice today (after 2 weeks of almost no sun and cold), so I washed my baby up and vacuumed her out.
If you look closely, you can just see the XM antenna on the trunk lid.

Look for pics next week with my new supra tt chromed/staggered wheels.

How does that pioneer deck sound with those kappa's?
I picked up one of those dot matrix Panasonic cd/mp3 players and im very unimpressed, I'd advise no one to buy one. no matter how cool they look..

This is an Alpine 7894. It sounds really nice. Alpine makes nice stuff.

I have not yet mounted the amp and I am still going to dynamat the rear deck, so I am waiting to do that before I take more pics.

Hey, I’ve got the same headunit as you and was wondering if you had to modify the trim piece to get it to fit around the faceplate? My audio shop said it would have to be cut so I haven’t taken the time to try it out. It’s really a nice unit though!

Yes, that is how it got the flush, finished look. Instead of having the HU jut out, a trim piece from another car install kit was trimmed to fit this application.

Very nice. I had considered filling than extra 1.5 din opening with the exact same thing, right down to the script. Great minds think alike. Of course, you actually did it, and it looks great. I just went with the black ABS plastic for now. Don't worry, I wont copy you. Lately, I have been considering gauges for that area, but I havent had the time to work on any major fabrication projects lately. Maybe this spring.

Cool

Looks Good!

I have the same head unit, but only got an Alpine 150 watt amp for the sub.
I purchased the JL Audio subwoofer as you suggested, but I have not installed it yet.
I put a pocket under the amp to hold the remote and sunglasses and stuff.
The head unit puts out 60WX4 by itself.
Is the power a lot cleaner with the amp?

Keep the ride lookin good!

Nate
