Does anyone out there have any ideas/advise on installing a JL Audio 10W7 and the 500/1 amp. I'm not into the ghetto boom sound at all. I'm more audiophile than boom. I'm planning for the dyn audio or the Diamonds up front. Oh yea... I took out the stock sub already. Strong tight bass is what I'm lloking for..
Its OK if it takes up the trunk shelf ... I dont want it to extend much further...
What kind of box? How big?
Aiming what direction?
Thanks ahead of time

Any JL Audio W7 series are made to BOOM. Recommeded sealed volume for your 10W7 is 1.25 cu. ft. If your looking for some tight bass I would look for another Sub (Image Dynamics). I do like your choice of amp tho

Check out JL's site for the proper specs on box building. I sure it won't take up all of your "shelf" space. I would aim the sub towards the rear. I tried front, up and rear and found the best response was the rear.
Good Luck ! and have fun

I don't have a W7, but a W3, and found out that each have their own recommended specs for boxes to produce the tight bass most desire. Sorry, I don't have the specs of my enclosure, but there's got to be some specs from JL somewhere, if not directrly from JL.
DaveGS4, who pointed me in the direction of the W3 as a replacement, also has one, but has a different shaped enclosre, and his is much different sounding than mine; more boomy.
You can check mine out here

Thanks very much. It's not a ultra high-end setup, or show system like some others have done, but it does what I want it to.

can you cut the rear deck, and put in two subs to the left and right of the factory sub, and install just the amp in your trunk? i want to upgrade my sound (currently have Nak), but don't want to sacrifice space by purchasing a box.
