Hello clublexus, I have a xtant x1044 subwoofer, it is a DVC 4ohm sub, I purchased a MB quart onx 1600.1 class d amp and from sonic electronix and it said that it did 1100w rms at 2 ohms, but it was dead on arrival, I sent it back for an exchange and they no longer have this in stock and have given me a credit of $120. I am looking for a replacement, something with similar numbers. I am currently looking at the MB quart reference 1500.1 class d, it says that it does 1000w rms at 2 ohm, but is not CEA approved and the other one that I am looking at is the Hifonics Brutus X-14 1900.1 class d, it says that it does 1400w at 2 ohms and IS CEA approved. If I go with one of these I am only spending an extra $40-50, Any help and suggestions would be appreciated, even if not these. but it has to be from sonic electronix, thanks

Not that the Brutus is any good, but I'd go for that over the MB Quart. But if I remember correctly, they're both made by the same company now, Maxxsonics, so they're practically the same amp.

Need to move this thread to the audio section though if you want better input.

Here Sukh, I went to their site and looked at all in your price range, take a pick. These are the only 2 worth looking at, the rest are junk. Personally, I'd go with the Kenwood, not my favorite brand, but I think will preform better than the Pioneer. The Kenwood has more tuning options too.

I would suggest the following for $180 @ SonicElectronix:

Rockford Fosgate P300X1
300W RMS Punch Series Monoblock Class AB Car Power Amplifier


Wire the two voice coils in parallel to achieve 2 Ohms net, and you are off to the races.
