Default Inside the Nakamichi Amplifier

Specs:

Nakamichi 86280-24120 / b324ul0a

power output - 40 x 4 / 100 x 1

Below is a look inside the Nakamichi SC amplifier for those who are interested. I was just getting ready to send this out and made a pass inside for inspection before shipping. I thought you might like a peek.

this is one of the most "easy to read" amps i've been in. very well layed out and looks like it would be a great amp to work on. so i shouldnt have any problems doing anything inside them.

I had similarly opened up mine - from '99 GS - before happily sending it to its current home on my garage shelf. Couldn't resist seeing what the build quality was. Your amp, although a bit older, looks like it has some beefier parts, and it looks much less integrated. It's also a bit bigger, assuming your hand is about the same size as mine. Probably why I keep hearing that the older SC Nak systems sound better than the newer ones....

At least they're using DISCRETE components rather than fully integrated power components. Pioneer/stock GS/non nak uses integrated power components. The discrete will always win hands down in s/n, thd, etc.
