Wire to turn on the antenna amplifier?

Wire to turn on the antenna amplifier?
Since our antenna is in the windshield, it should somehow be amplified somehow, right?
So after putting in a new head unit, shouldnt their be some wire we should attach to the head units blue power antenna wire so it turns on the amplifier for the antenna when listening to the radio? If so, which wire is it, or how do you locate it?
