Free Air Subs???
#4
Back in '94 JBL made a sub called T-104. It was a free air sub that had a cast frame basket and spring loaded connections. the sub came with it's own grill and worked specifically in large volumes with little to no lag in response time. It was unbelieveably clean and snappy. The tone was perfect and it could snap Metallica's "ONE" in free air as quick as the best concert subs in sealed enclosures. I still haven't heard a sub in free air that sounds as quick and acurate with such a clean aura of energy around it. It's a shame what JBL has became. Though i was never a real die hard fan, they have yet to acomplish making anything that even comes close to that sub since '94. i still look for them everywhere i go. The T-104 is a 10 incher and is above and beyond lexus quality. I'd love to find another one.
edit: google only has one hit for this sub, on this link at the bottom.http://www.diplomat1.com/tablebuilde...L&My_brand=JBL

I'm using a Kenwood 12' Free Air they make 10' as well, it is a easy fit for my 1st gen GS only had to drill holes for the screws... handles around 130 watts RMS 600 peak. Forgot model # but Kenwood only makes one free air model, and its hard to find, i discovered it from a Kenwood Rep and had it shipped directly from Kenwood to the retail location which had just told me they didnt carry one.
