IF you buy a 12in sub, do you cut a 12 in hole? NEED ANSWER FAST

Please i need to know if you buy a 12 in sub, will you have to make a 12in hole, or is it custom for every sub, please respond soon, for i need to know the simple answer, thanks

this is just a matter of common sense. how are you gonna mount something that is the same size or smaller than the hole it is going into?

11.4 inches is the standard, many subs are oversized. good luck.

does anyone know the measurements for the size of the hole for a 12in jl w0 because i tried searching but couldn't find anything

big, the w0 is a standard stamped frame basket. 11.3 should do just fine.

If you go to JL's website (www.jlaudio.com), you will find a spec sheet for the 12W0. In the specs you will find the prescribed diameter for the hole that you need to cut, and also all of the speaker's physical dimensions. This is the best way to find out. Don't guess.
