Default Laptop Mount Kit For Cars?

I AM TRYIN TO COME UP WITH AN IDEA OF MOUNTING MY LAPTOP IN MY CAR. SO FAR I HAVE COME UP WITH MAKING IT SIT ON THE GLOVE BOX OPEN WITH A STRAP HOLDING IT IN PLACE. DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE MOUNTS OR SOME KIND OF SPPECIAL WAY OF HOOKIN UP THEIR LAPTOPS IN THEIR RIDES?

Hmmm....Try looking in the police cars.

But, why would you need a laptop in your car?
I'm sure you are not going to need one of those "three-stage-fast&furious-drag-action" using a computer.
Is that thing even feasible with a computer as seen in the Eclipse in FF?

I think your rolling entertainment system is only MORE better for distractions.

Post Laptop desktop....?

Try Jotto Desk at www.jottodesk.com for a full range of mounts. I bought one of their early products that mounts a notebook on a work surface supported on a moveable arm that attaches to the floor of my RX. A short stub is permanently attached to the floor to which the vertical member is connected. A pretty good solution – but four caveats:

1. Do not mount the desk in the path of the passenger’s airbag, for obvious reasons.
2. Be very careful drilling through the floorpan to attach the base – there are brake lines in the area!
3. Reinforce the floorpan with a steel plate or fender washers to prevent the floor from “oilcanning” under moderate to heavy loads.
4. While the floor mount is permanent, you can cut the floormat to fit snugly around it, and with a protective plastic cap in place, you’ll hardly know it’s there.

The Jotto Desk works fairly well with a notebook up to several pounds, and would likely be even better with a lighter weight TabletPC. I’ve used the desk for over three years for a heavy IBM laptop running my contact management and DeLorme GPS navigation software (I bought the desk through DeLorme www.delorme.com and got a good price) . It's a terrific tool for any road warrior!
