Misc. Stereo Help Needed
Okay guys, so I am currently in the process of installing a new stereo, and I have run into some problems.
1. I ran into a problem with the head unit not having a amp turnoff. I originally was planning on using the factory head unit with the new system, but it does not look like it is possible. As of right now, I have the amps connected to the starter so everything will work. Is their a way around this or am I going to have to replace my factory head unit? If I do replace my head unit, what do you recommend? I want it to be MP3 compatible and I am considering some type of DVD system. If I do go with a screen (dvd system), I would also like it to be nav. compatible. Lastly, I do not want to have a hole in my glove box, so I will be installing a new changer if I change out the head unit.
2. What is the best position for a sub box in a trunk. As of right now, the box is mounted up out of the way, and the sub is located in the same location as the factory amp. This sounds like crap. Any suggestions?

you can still use the factory head, I did. I jsut changed everything else out.
as far as the sub, I went with 1- 12" IDQ firing thru factory hole in sealed box. sounds GREAT !
remember, I am local- if you wanna check it out and listen, let me know.

That is exactly how my setup looked until this afternoon. In attempt to make the bass hit cleaner, I dropped the box down...and let me tell you, it made a HUGE difference.
But yes, I would like to hear how your setup looks and sounds in person. When do you have some free time?
BTW, how did you get around the amp turn-off not being part of the head unit?
