Default 08' IS350 Mark Levinson system, subwoofer upgrade viable options?

So I've seen people come across similar questions over the years with little to no responses and some want to run 12's or whatever. I am looking for some educated input or experience on this. I want it to sound decently balanced still, I like loud clean music, my opinion is the clarity is pretty good on the ML system, but it doesn't have a ton of bass or volume. I am aiming to run about 500 RMS into a pair of 8" subwoofers with ported box.

I know how to wire a system, I know it needs a hi/low converter or a cleensweep, but I'm not super savvy beyond wiring stuff up. Can anyone give me a recommendation for which COMPONENTS to use; IE: Amp? Subs? Which integration module? I was looking at the Type-R 8's as I had good luck with singles before in small truck applications.

I saw something in a write up from 2009 that talked about hertz filters or something on the ML system an that is way over my head. Typically I buy front to back all matched components, second skin sound deaden (which I'll be doing) and it sounds great. This splicing in aftermarket to factory is all new. Thanks for the help.
