i am going to instal a compustar remote start system but i know i would like to also retain the factory remote fob to see how i like it with that also but cant find any info on how to program the factory remote to work with the aftermarket unit anyone got this info ?

PM Me. I have a solution for you. ...and yes. It allows you to retain factory fob use.

 

bought this and the smart card from best buy. Their installer told it will do what you asked and what i wanted but was a waste since i didn't need the remotes. He said to buy the dball and a viper card and either he can install it or I could since it is supposed to be quite easy.

the tech at best buy was able to set it up to work with my remotes oem
i also had the drone mobile unit set up so i can control it from my phone also.

what i am now curious about is they set up Aux 1 on my compustar unit to operate the rare defrost
however when i turn the aux on like when i operate the aux the light on the dash doesn't light up showing that the rare defrost is on the tech said that the button on the dash fo rthe rare defrost will not light up when its the Aux option only will light up when i push the button manual in the car is this correct ? or is this tech just not sure what he was doing ?
