40Watts RMS per channel is plenty to drive the 4" OEM speakers. 100W RMS is adequate for the 10" subwoofer. My 100W subwoofer amp blew in the Nakamichi, so I put in an Alpine MD350 ,Class D 350W, subwoofer amplifier to drive the 10" subwoofer. Circuit City had (has?) this amp on sale for $169. I ran 8 gauge wire from the battery to both amps. l using the Nak amp to drive the other 4 speakers. It sounds great!
