Hey guys, i just got my second lexus es300, '96, white this time, and going to put a hot system in it. I kind of wanted to go with 1 JL 13W7 and run that with 1 1000.1 jl amp. But realized it was kind of a lot of $$, maybe could get a good deal for around 1g.

So I've decided I would get 2 Rockford HX2's (RFD 2212). I previously owned one in my oldslowmobile, and that thing could really hit hard. So now is the question of which amp to get.

I haven't really looked around yet, but was wondering what amps out there would provide the power I need.

Also, will I need to get a second battery?I hope not. And will I need a cap, if so how many?

I was either deciding between these amps, if you have any other ideas please post. All help is appreciated.

1 or 2.... because i dont think 1 will have enough power 2 push 2 500watt rms subs...... and i was running along those lines because of the $$ the jl 500/1 goes for what?300+.... ummm maybe.....i'm thinking as i'm writing this message....

I think you should go with Rockford amp 1000.2 punch power......thats all you will need nothing else........lots of power and bass!

I think you should get one more hx2 sub so you could get the impedance down to ohms and then I would buy a 1500bd rockford subs work great with rockford amps that's what I am running with my hx2's my amp doesn't shut down at all it's always good to have more power you can adjust the gains and some real good bass

IMHO, get a 12W7 and a JL 500/1 to run it off of ebay. You should be able to get both for less than $1000. This is what I have in my ride right now and it rocks. You'll be afraid of popping your back window out if you're brave enough to crank it up that loud. If you're adverse to buying anything off of ebay, you could get the 500/1 and a 10W7 for just around $1000 at an official retailer. I would put 1 10W7 against the 2 RF's anyday.

BTW, I had the punch hx2 12" right before the JL. It's a good sub but there is no comparison to the W7.

the 12W7 retails for around $750. You can get one for around 550-600 shipped off of ebay. I got mine at Good Guys (authorized) for $600. The 500/1 goes for around $550 retail. You can get them for under $400 shipped off of ebay. 10W7 retails for around $550, and probably $450 shipped off of ebay. The W7 is the best sub out there in terms of SQL (it gets extremely loud and the sound quality does not suffer). There are other subs with slightly better sound quality and others that get louder but nothing that touches it combining the two. They are spendy but once you get a look at them, you'll know why.

I would get a RF Punch 800.2 with the two 12'' HX2 and a cap
