gurus please read, amp location help
This is the way I'm going to have my system setup, I'm going to have the 2 rocks facing the rear, and now need to find the location for the amp.
I was thinking if its possible to bolt the amps to the place behind where the rear lights are mounted.
Is this possible? Will it cause any malfunctions...
After i took off the sound deadener and the trunk light, i was wondering if its possible to mount the amp there with some bolts. Would you have to first take of the rear lights and then bolt the amp.
The amp is a kicker kx800.2 and is 26" long and pretty heavy.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
Josh

I wouldn't think it's a good idea to have your amp there.. You gonna have the trunk open/close quite often, right? Those vibration, wouldn't it cuz problems to the amp?
I got my 2 RF facing the back and the amp on the floor..

such a large amp needs to cool evenly across the heatsink to avoid premature failure of the outputs on the top row of the heatsink. wherever you stick it, make certain it is flat.
can you hang it right side up from the rear deck?
