Default Test CD Samples

Here is something that you guys can use to get an idea for buying a good audio test CD's. These are only to be used to get an idea of the stuff that you like or don't like. Delete after the first audition. If you feel you want to contribute a high quality sample feel free. Also keep it local, don't go posting it on other forums. I don't want for admin to change password and leave you guys out.

Hey Retro, where are you located? Im in the Sf Valley area, and I have a sealed 13w7 in my SC and I am somewhat unhappy. Any chance I might be able to audition some ID's ? I could be unhappy due to many things, rattling (even though I bought a roll of raammaat, its starting to melt off), a class D amp, poor box built.

Stealther: I got it from one of the audio web sites. Pretty cool SQ community. I kinda know many of them in person. Just thought you guys can "demo" some tracks to make your decisions. Those CD's pop up on e-bay and most of them are avaliable once you do a search.

Hemogoblin: I am in San Diego but I will be in NorCal (Sonoma) for a sound competition/show on September 7th. We could meet up over there if you'd like.
W7 is a very sensitive woofer so class D is not the best amp to power it. Also what many people don't realise is that W7 generally sounds a lot better in ported applications. It is a great woofer...just got to set it up right.

Always use non processed audio if at all possible. Every convertion kills quality.

If you want to get the best of old school, grab a legit CD copy of Casino Royal; The James Bond movie.
The original album was worth more than $200 a pop for a decade even in "played" condition.

I digitized dad's copy and minus the few crackles and pops here and there, it still works perfectly to test audio systems.

I get flaimed by someone every time I bring it up. I can't say anything back either since I don't want to have that thread closed due to flamewar. At least someone thinks the way I do.

Chuck, have fun dude. System sounds better with test sample CD's don't it

Most of it is not daily listening music for me though. Sounds good though. I should upload more stuff myself too.
