Radio on, no sound (92 SC300)
I test drove my friend's 92 SC300, I turned on the radio to make sure it works (didn't listen to the CD though). A few hours later, the radio produces no sound but the Headunit is functional. What to check? Amp? The same door speakers that are connected to the factory cell phone are still functional though.

sc stereo no sound.
yes sorry to say it sounds like the amplifier.if it nakamichi system the amps can get water damage as the rubber trunk moulding ages. heavy rain or high power car wash will do it.. it is located below the cd player in the right trubnk quarterpanel area. so vulnerable to water damage.there is a quarterpanel drain plug that also can get plugged. if it is early pioneer system stereo ,id number p6800 on the cassette flap door, the 4 channel amp is internal on the back of the radio and has heat problem which is why they switched them to the trunk in 94 even on the pioneer system. there is a rear amp under the changer on the 92 sc300 but it is only is only the 1 channel subwoofer amp. i
