Hey Everyone!

I am new to this forum, however it has already proven to be an incredibly useful resource for researching a vehicle I am 90% sure I am going to purchase.

I recently had my car totaled in a minor rear end collision and a friend of a friend has a 2004 LS 430 they are wanting to sell to me for a good price. It has 101K miles, one owner and verified Lexus service over the course of its life.

I am test driving it at the moment and, obviously, I am hoping for a retrofit option to tie my iPhone into the sound/nav system.

The Vaistech Sl3b seems to be the goto option, but it looks like the hook up cable is an older 30pin style for iPhone 3/4's. Apple (I think) still makes a 30 pin to Lightening adaptor. I have an iPhone 6s and will probably upgrade to a newer phone sometime in the next couple of years.

I talked with Vaistech and they say they do not currently make a lightening cable for the SL3b. All I am interested in is streaming audio, but I'd love to take advantage of being able to plug my phone in for power, without having to use the cigarette lighter (which is pretty corroded and doesn't make very good contact.

So, my question is...who has been using the Sl3b with an iPhone (6s or later) and do you use an Apple 30 pin - Lightning adaptor for power?

Any feedback, questions, tips would be most appreciated!

I haven't used the SL3b but I can confirm that the older SLi box will work with a newer iphone with the Lightning to 30 pin adaptor. The only issue is that it may be a 12v connection and not a 5v connection for power; you can get 30 pin adaptors that convert those as well on ebay (I had to get one b/c my old ipod finally died).

So in theory you would need to put the 2 adaptors in series but it should work.
