Play MP3 w/ old 95 LS400 in dash 6-CD player?
I took a quick scan on the existing postings and did not see anything on this topic. so here is my question:
Is there any way I can retrofit my exising 6-CD in dash player to play MP3 songs? I have a 1995 LS400 with Nakamichi stereo.
Thanks.

i think it's all in the lens and it's ability to read the data.......same with a cd-r that has regular files burned on it
i'm sure you could do some lens swapping between it and a capable lens, but it would be brain surgery.....replacing it is probably your best bet
i've never seen an OEM h/u that will play them though.........i'm sure there are some, but they may only play itunes or something where they can make sure we aren't "screwing the music industry"
i'm pulling my whole nak system and replacing it with an mp3 player simply because that's what i have mostly, mp3 discs.........i buy a cd, back it up, then put it away and make mp3 discs.....so convenient

There's much more to it than simply swapping a lens ....
Reading mp3 files requires firmware in the CD player that is "aware" of formats other than the standard "Red Book" CD format. CD players built back in 1995 were never designed with that sort of firmware. So you would need to replace the whold CD changer with something much newer.
