My old Yamaha receiver bit the dust. I know there are a lot of variables to consider but any of you audiophiles have suggestions for a mid range receiver.
I'm looking at the following:
Yamaha RX-2300
Denon AVR-3803 or 2803
Harman Kardon AVR 525
Maybe Onkyo? I'm running Polk 800RTi speakers and their surround partners.
EDIT:
The Onkyo TX-SR701 looks pretty sweet. Found this one for $599 delivered. Any thoughts from you pros?

I'd go with either the Denon (suggest you also look at the AVR-2803) or the Onkyo. Less a fan of the Yamaha, not a fan of the Harman Kardon any longer.
The speakers you've got are pretty efficient, so the 2803 should push them fine (
Link to Polk speaker specs). The latest Home Theater magazine (Sept 03) has a very good review of it.

I agree with DaveGS4. I'm a big Denon fan, and the newer Onkyo stuff is pretty good and well constructed. I think Yamaha is overpriced, and H/K was good in its heyday but I wouldn't buy H/K anymore. I really don't think you can go wrong with the Denon. You might also consider the Sony ES line, made pretty well, but sometimes has a cumbersome user interface, depending which components you're looking at.
