Brake light warning on dash!
I have a warning light of a car with its rear light shining. I checked all the rear bulbs (brake light, rear lights, backup lights, license plate lights) and they are working. The light does not come on everytime but only when I push the brakes and open the passenger rear door.
This is very strange. I had an accident on that door and they took all my old parts out and put it on the new door. I was wondering if the sensor runs through this door. Do you guys have any idea what is wrong with my car?

Yes. You have no front seats. Since you can push on the brake pedal and open the passenger rear door, you must be sitting in the rear. And have really long arms and legs. (Sorry, couldn't resist...)
More seriously:
If you have the passenger rear door open, does the warning light come on EVERY time you depress the brake pedal? If so, sounds like a connection within the brake light circuit is opening up when you have the door open. I don't think the brake light sensor wiring runs THROUGH the door, that doesn't seem to make much sense. It is more likely that the mechanical action of the opening of the door is pressing or pulling on one or more of the wiring harnesses.
If you have someone hold down the brake pedal for you, you can try opening the door slowly until the light comes on. By doing this you may be able to see exactly what position the door is in when the light comes on, and that may help - if you can take the door panel off and check things out.

Yeah man I am stretch arm strong!!!
Anyways, yeah the light comes on only when I push the brakes and someone in the rear passenger opens the door. I will check this out and try to troubleshoot the problem. Thanks for your reply
