Default GS 400 Speaker plates

I wan to remove my speaker enclousers in the doors and make some kind of plates. On thouse plates i want to mount 5,5 a/d/s series 2 speakers. Did any one here got ride of thouse crapy enclousers in gs400 and if you did how did it sound with plates and speakers mount right in to the door.

Most of us have removed the enclosures and installed various brands of better speakers. You can make the new speaker baffles out of 1/2" MDF. It works well if you use the existing plastic enclosure as a template. And since you're removing the enclosure, apply sound deadening material such as Dynamat or equiv., or a Deflex pad, to the inside of the doors.

Just make sure that your speakers don't go get on the way of your window. Measure everything with your window down.
