Subwoofer enclosure in place of spare tire?
Hey guys,
Its almost time for my next big project for my 1998 GS300. I have noticed that some of you have already done what I dream of doing to my car. One thing that I am contemplating is a custom subwoofer enclosure instead of the huge box with two 12's that currently eats up my trunk. I have seen a few obviously well thought out and designed custom enclosures and was wondering what level of engineer you had to be to pull something like that off? Does anyone have any plans or suggestions that they would be willing to share? I was thinking of using the space that currently houses my spare tire. Does anyone have pics/ plans of such a design as well as potential cost and time that would be required? Any other hot designs are also welcome.
Thanks, Mark

Fellow CL member Kyle Harty has a nifty site showing how he 'glassed up his spare tire well (page 9). He had a Honda at the time, but the principles of the construction are the same. You can read up on 'glassing on the other www.sounddomain.com web pages and user forum (and see links on my sounddomain.com site for other resources).
