Removal of Center Armrest
I want to run my RCAs down the middle of my 2000 GS400 from the trunk and through the armrest/center console into the dash. I know how to remove the console around the shifter housing, but I don't know how to remove the center armrest/storage tray. Can someone give me instructions? I think that I'll need to remove the whole thing (including the rear A/C vents) to run the RCAs through.
Also, will running RCAs down the center be a problem with inducing noise into the system? Should I run ithe RCAs along the doors instead?
Thanks,
Michael

My experience is on the 2000 ES300. If I were you, I'd go down the door sills. Talke a good look down the inside of the center console/shifter deck. There's a lot of moving, mechanical parts. Just right for snagging a mis-routed audio cable, or one that vibrates loose & drops down. Take off the sill covers and you'll find a nice, big cable tray leading from the rear seat bottom to the post near your foot in the front seat. Just remove a few screws & clips and it's all available. I even have a couple of nice slots in the trunk front wall to pass the cables through to behind the rear seats. A nice, easy & clean run from the trunk to the dash.
