I just purchased a 2000 Lexus RX300 with 36,000 miles. Beautiful vehicle.

I am thinking about upgrading the stereo and climate controls to a slightly more modern system.

Has anybody installed a Metra dash kit system like the one shown at this link: http://metraonline.com/part/99-8164T . This seems really cool as the Metra system separates the climate controls from the stereo. They have designed a new touchsceen with several additional "hard" buttons to control the a/c and heat and integrated this touchscreen into the dash. Then you go out and purchase the stereo system of your choice, probably a 2 DIN with touchscreen, and install it to replace the old climate and stereo controls.

Is there anybody on the forum that has installed one of these kits? Any opinions about doing this or not doing this?
