Camera in trunk keyhole

Camera in trunk keyhole
I don't know if anyone has done this, but I would like to share.
I attempted to put a reverse camera in the trunk key hole. Basically,
you have to open the trunk-duh, remove the 4 screws that are holding
the trunk bar, pop out/unscrew the key holder, cut a square piece of
glass, insert the glass, then mount the camera. Now awaiting for
the pioneer monitor to plug in. You have to tap the power from the rear
reverse lights. The camera is 9v, so you have to get a power regulator
that goes 12v to 9v from Fry's, any electronic store. Maybe Radio Shack.
Basically, the camera is about the size of a quarter.
I'm sorry to tease and not have any pics. I will try to post upon getting
a digital camera and clearer write-ups.
I welcome any comments, edit...........

Backup Camera
To resurrect an OLD post I have found a good alternative to running an RCA cable throughout your car. There is a wireless camera availabe for a decent price compared to other stores I have seen. It uses only 50mw of current so it won't drain your battery in the least. Also, this camera has a pinhole lens so you don't have to go drilling a 1" diameter hole in your prescious ride just to see what's behind you. The only problem I have come across with this camera is that you can only have one running at a time because they all use the same 1.2GHz frequency band. However, this is also a great feature since you can have as many cameras as you want and use the same receiver for all of them. For me since I am using 2 cameras - one for a back-up camera and one in my front bumper - I am using a rocker switch to alternate between the two cameras, powering only one at a time. Installation requires drilling a miniscule hole approximately 1/8" in diameter and then gluing/mounting the sucker in place. I used some store brand epoxy and it' hasn't budged. Then just hook up the included receiver to your screen's RCA input and you're ready to take in the sights. All in all this is a simple mod if you want a backup camera that won't break the bank. I hope this helps you guys out
