IS300 satelite radio antenna install
Do any of you have the satelite radio anntena installed on your rear deck inside the car or on the dash? If so, I was just wondering if you've experienced any problems with this setup. After talking to 1loudlex, I was thinking of installing it on the rear deck inside the car as opposed to sticking the antenna on the outside. Why? two reasons: 1) I don't want anyone messing with the antenna being that it's the newer magnetic kenwood antenna and 2) I don't want to stick anything on the outside of my that will cause fade marks or leave that sticky residue from the double sided tape.

From the posts on www.clubXM.com and www.siriusbackstage.com, quite a few have reported success with placing the antenna on the deck or dash. It certainly is a good way to start and see how it works out- you can always move it outside later.
Most professional car stereo shops won't install it inside the car, but that's because they want to play it safe and minimize any "come backs", in case it does not work out.
Your success might also hinge on the number of repeaters in the area you drive in.
Finally, some have also placed the antenna inside the rear spoiler! Check out www.clubXM.com and www.siriusbackstage.com for more details.

hey man, im actually an installer and the new kenwood antenna has a magnet built in it to use for the outside of the car. take the double sided tape off and u will see it.... if u put it in the rear deck or in the front dah you will probably experience blackouts alot. if u have the old kenwood antenna go buy the new one....... reasons why: 1 its a lot smaller and looks better on the outside of the car and 2: lot better reception..
