Cool Lexus SC 6.5" Rear Deck Speaker Install

First time posting here. Decided to install some 6.5" Pioneers in the rear deck using some washers and weather seal / foam tape I bought at home depot. Total cost was only $8.58. The washers I used were too big (1/4 x 1.25) and only allowed me to clamp 2 corners. I would recommend 1/4 x 1" for this project to get a good clamp on all corners.

First remove the rear seats. Lift up the bottom of the seats to pop them out then pull them out. Next, there's 3 12mm bolts on the bottom of the rear seat uppers. Remove those then pull the back rest up. After that, you need to pull the plastic that holds the seatbelt out from the rear deck. After that just shimmy the rear deck out.

From here, remove the rear speakers and their plastic housings. There will be 4 10mm bolts that hold these in (keep them). I used the speaker wire that came with the Pioneers to make the connections. It's ugly but it works lol. After that I placed weather seal / foam around the cutouts in the rear deck to create a seal. I left a small gap in between the foam to allow my speaker wire to come through.

After doing this, I wired everything up and started bolting them down. This isn't the best method (why I recommend 1/4 x 1" instead of 1.25") because I wasn't able to use the washers on all 4 corners. I was able to seat the washer good over the 2 front-most holes, which pushed the speakers back just enough to get a good clamp with the rear 2 bolts without using washers.

Now, TEST YOUR SPEAKERS. You don't want to have to take everything apart just to get back there again lol. After that, reassemble everything in reverse. Done! I followed user t2d2's write up on this and just wanted to post my experience with this install. Thanks!
