Default 2004 LS 430 Audio Conversion

Hey Lexus Fam. I was told that in order to put aftermarket audio in my car, the complete wiring of the car has to be redone. If I replace the Mark Levinson amp, nav unit, Mark Levinson speakers and sub, and don’t rewire my whole car, that it will burn up and/or fail. Is this true or is this guy smoking some good stuff?

i’ve seen a lot of conversions being done here on the forums. Has anyone had any issues with the harness failing, burning up, or anything factory installed failing like I was told? Thank you

the only thing i can think of is the possible overtaxing of the factory wiring considering that the wires are small like 20-24 gauge and aftermarket audio would need more power than those wires could deliver i just recently added a new headunit amp and sub to my LS430 using factory wiring
