Question XM Radio

Took delivery of my 2004 LS 430 yesterday and dealership told me xm radio won't be available until late fall or sometime next year!

Nobody in the dealership has been trained to sell this feature and I had to tell the sales manager the benefits of xm.

One of the reason I bought the LS 430 is because xm radio was suppose to be installed without needing a seperate control unit cluttering up the dash.

Has anybody had the same issues with their dealer?

Thanks.

Your dealer is behind the curve. XM radio is available right now. I had XM radio installed on my 04 LS430 three weeks ago by my dealer. Cost is $600 plus labor. Well worth it!!

Thanks for the information; by the by, where did they mount the antenna?

On my GS 430 the antenna mounted on the rear lid which wasn't bad because the spoiler hid the antenna; however, I have read on this site the dealers are mounting the antenna on the left side of the rear deck; sounds like the dealers don't want to block the rear brake light.

Can an antenna be mounted next to our near the antenna for the gps on the LS 430?

The new $33,000 Acura TL has XM radio as standard, installed on the rear of the roof, and they throw in three months programming for free. Lexus should consider this in their $60,000 plus LS sedan.

There is a space behind the Lexus antenna on the rear of the roof. Perhaps the XM antenna could be installed behind the existing antenna.

Anyone know any reason why not?
