NX Poor door-bottom seal
Hi Lexus USA.
As a current owner of the new NX, during winter driving, excessive snow and dirt accumulates at the bottom of the doors. As moderator of the NX forum, I also speak for a few other owners who have reported the same issue, best represented here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...e-frame-3.html
I have tested the addition of an extended vinyl seal along the rocker panel with strong results. The DIY is here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/nx-...-seal-fix.html
With the fix in place, the snow/dirt accumulation is at a minimum and points out a flaw in the design of the rubber seal. In short, the goal here is creating visibility of the issue, considering this fix in redesigning a taller rubber seal, and issuing an eventual replacement of the seal via a TSB. It's a relatively simple fix that will significantly improve the ownership experience.
Thank you for your consideration in pursuing perfection.
