Chea that Range Rover Sport is a problem on the streets. See one in Black or that Anthracite/Gunmetal color.....What!!!!! I need that.

Sounds like a Lexus Highlander to me, not that it's a bad thing.

I think the idea of sporty SUVs isn't as bad as you think. It's simply offering a good compromise between sport and utility (they're Sport Utility Vehicles after all aren't they?). And as long as people are actually buying them it's good for business.
I like the current crop. I was already like, WTF, when the GX was introduced. Clearly though, these SUVs are a huge hit.

my thinking is, please dump these profits back into Lexus CARS. Which is slowly happening.

No offense but the thought of going to the Lexus dealer and seeing 4 models of SUVS (well 5 counting the RX 400h) is like the though of the new R-class Minivan Benz.

Ewwwwwwwwwwwww

Just imagine, the #1 success of the Lexus SUV's (Land Rover, eat your heart out!), next to a top-ranked success of Lexus sedans/coupes...

Isn't the VX an R-class competitor? I thought it was based off the HPS concept, or whatever it was called, which someone told me was like an R-class.

It's HPX, which has been recently renamed to LF-X.

I'm still saddened to learn that the LX name will go. I wonder what the reasoning behind it is. It's not like the LX is a huge failure or is burdened with negative image or anything.

Do you think the LX is gonna be resurrected later on like the SC (that'll make 5 SUVs in the Lexus lineup )? If not, it's gonna be the first time Lexus ever drops a model name completely.

I am also lost as why they would lost that name, its got a great brand for Lexus. It would be the first name Lexus dropped, though, not due to slow sales. I guess they figure the 2 SUVs are so far apart, the new one deserves a new name?
