F1-inspired Lexus Supercar Is Go, Go, Go

The most exciting Japanese supercar ever to be developed is under starter's orders, Auto Express can reveal. Toyota's eagerly anticipated road car - to mark its current involvement in Formula One - has been given the green light, and is expected to make its public debut at October's Tokyo Motor Show.
The rear-wheel-drive machine will be powered by a 4.5-litre V8 and wear a Lexus badge. It heralds the arrival of the prestige brand in the maker's home market, where it has never been sold. Taking inspiration from the stylised red coupé that appeared in last year's Steven Spielberg film, Minority Report, the two-seater is likely to be built in the US to get round Japan's 280bhp limit on performance cars. That means it could offer as much as 400bhp.
Despite the sudden decision to debut the vehicle at Tokyo, there's still no word on when it will appear in showrooms. Our source claimed it wouldn't go on sale until the Toyota team was faring better on the track.

I doubt it will look like this car as shown in the film, but with some modifications, it should look stunning.
So, Lexus will have two new high end sports cars coming out in the next few years, this & the Lexus V-10 GT !? It's getting exiting !! Ican't wait.

There's an article in September's Road & Track (pg. 48), wherein they describe a Lexus supercar with a V-10 engine developed by Toyota's F1 team. Planned launch year is 2005. It is not the same car pictured above.
Here are some specs:
1. 5.0 liter V-10, 500 hp @ 7,000 rpm.
2. Engine mounted aft of front axle.
3. 6-speed gearbox.
4. Two doors
5. Rear drive
6. Its own platform
7. $100,000 (approx.)
