WTT '95 3000GT VR4 for GS400
Yeah I know, I got the idea from the guy posting his Supra up here. I've been scanning these boards for months looking for the right GS400.
I have a mint condition 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 in black, 6-speed manual transmission, with NO MODIFICATIONS. I have spent over $8k in OEM work (new clutch/flywheel and rebuilt transmission are $5k of that work). Twin Turbo 320hp, AWD and AWS. 96k miles, fully synthetic oil changes every 3k miles or 3 months. 90k service was done at 89k. It is nearly impossible to find a perfect condition unmodified VR4 in the U.S. It does have one shortfall for me- it has two doors.
Anyway, I won't give up my VR4 for anything but a GS400- after driving a few GS's, I don't see myself driving much else. I need a more practical 'family' type car at this point. Oh, and on the VR4, you can ramp it up to near 400hp for about a grand.
I'd pitch in some cash to the deal as well, but I don't think I have enough for a GS430 at this point.

I was even playing around with KBB looking at the value of your car witch looks to be around 10g's Private Party -- that seems rather low for a VR4. If you lived closer I might even come take a look -- you never know until you drive it. I used to own an Eclipse, always had problems with it, so its hard to justify going back to mitsubishi. However with a little tuning I'd be nice to be able to keep up with my friends with a Supra TT and Skyline. Def a VR-4 would be a badass car for sure, however 4 doors and the pimp status of the GS would be missed.

I'm not much of an old car enthusiast, but imagine the difference between a 'classic' Corvette that's rusting out with ripped seats, versus the collector car with a few thousand original miles- whatever "book" value says isn't going to be right on for either car.
If you're interested in keeping up with a Supra TT, just check out www.3si.org. With AWD you'll win off the line everytime, and I've seen some people take their street-legal VR4s into the low 10s in the quarter mile (though that's SERIOUS modding).
