2007 Lexus IS250 6MT with < 4000 miles (San Francisco) *Pics Added*
I will be relocating to Texas and getting married, and my future wife and I will need two reasonably-priced cars, instead of one expensive one. I was planning on shipping my car and trading it in Texas, but I thought I’d also post it up for sale as well, at least for the next few days.
The car is Tungsten Pearl/black leather, equipped with:
• Bi-xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps and Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)
• 18 x 8.0-in alloy wheels with 225/40YR18 tires front, 18 x 8.5-in alloy wheels with 255/40YR18 tires rear
• Factory OEM rear spoiler
• Trunk mat
• Wheel locks
• Cargo net
The car is completely stock, was purchased on 03/31/07, and currently has less than 3900 miles. It has already had its free six month service (in September 2007), and I haven’t had any of the TSBs done.
After I nagged extensively, the entire clutch assembly was replaced under warranty at Lexus of Marin at 1403 miles, due to the clutch chatter issue. I have all receipts, and you can also read my story of having it replaced right here on Club Lexus (just search under my user name). Note that it does not sound any different after replacement, and, based on posts by other owners, the noise is apparently “normal.” The car drives perfectly fine, of course.
Also, in the interest of full disclosure, the car had a low-speed incident with a scooter in July 2007, which resulted in a dent, a scratch and a scuff on the driver’s side rear door. Repairs were done by Selecta Auto Body on 24th Street in San Francisco, and I have photos of the door prior to repair, as well as receipts for all the work. It does show up on Carfax.
As of the moment I type this, the car looks like new, with no other incidental scratches, dings, etc. As you can tell from the mileage, I also hardly ever drive it, so there is very little wear on the interior, and it still smells new. Other than the salesman on my initial test drive, I haven’t even had passengers in the back seat.
If you examined the interior in detail, you would notice a small scratch by the center storage compartment and on the bottom of the steering wheel, and a bit of scuffing on the seat backs (My girl moved to Texas first, and the IS got pressed into emergency box transport to the post office). Otherwise, there are no defects of which I am aware.
I am 35 (going on 36), and have endeavored to treat the car with respect since it was purchased. I keep the revs below 4000 RPM until the car has reached operating temperature, rev-match all downshifts, double-clutch when downshifting into 1st gear, have never “dumped” the clutch at high RPM, and rarely hit redline.
I will have photos up within the next couple of days.
The price is $26,000 firm. Please post all inquiries in this thread (per the “Advice for Buyers” Rule #8).
