In order for it to be legal in CA it would have to pass smog. That is only possible if you can somehow convert it with USDM parts, if he's using all of the JDM parts then it won't be. There should be some info online if you do a search.

That motor was never available in the U.S in any vehicle so you would probably run into the same issues as trying to legalize a Skyline.

98 Supra came with a 2jzgte vvt, that's the same motor on the Aristo 98+, but good luck finding one of those.

Tps in florida says there different but I think your exactly right!!! Being i used every gasket, waterpump, timing belt etc... all ordered under 1998 supra tt from the toyota dealer only diff is I had to use non turbo spark plug wires...

I don't think you need to swap those parts, but more like ECU, injectors, cats, etc... Stuff related to emissions. There is ways around emissions in Cali, I don't understand why people are always crying about Cali laws. Just look at all the moded cars around here.

Yeah I know A few fellas in cali.... and there whips damn sure aint passin no emmisions... I just still cant figure out why mine hasnt sold yet... I mean I made the price a dead give away...
