I'm planning on getting into a 2GS in the next few months. I know some of you are motivated sellers, but if you're willing to work with me on the time frame, that'd be awesome.
I'm looking for a 2GS for $10,000 or under. I'd want a stock car that has not been touched. Mileage can vary since I know this price range is decently low (research shows 10k and under 2GS's vary from 60k miles to 100k miles). I'm looking for any white, black or silver. No other colors, please. It must be in great working condition and mechanically sound, straight body, clean title, have up to date maintenance, etc.
I'm located in Dallas, TX, but if you have something I am looking for, I do not mind traveling. I'm just throwing this out there to see if there are any bites since I trust this place a little more than say AutoTrader or something.

What he said, craigslist can be iffy but if you do your due diligence you can get lucky on there. I recently sold my '98 GS400 (which btw had under 59k miles, so yes you can find low mileage GS's around) on craigslist. And I don't think, based on my experience, that you can't find what you want in that price range, after all I only got $11k for mine and it was a GS4 (you're looking for a GS3) and had over $6k in mods, but I got very little interest, not even when I posted here on CL. I guess like always, a persons idea of value depends on if he's the buyer or the seller.
Btw there's a listing on craigslist for an '01 GS300 out here in AZ, 88k miles, silver and stock, asking $10.5 I think but you could always do some negotiating. GL.

I've seen a few in Texas with 60k miles on AutoTrader.
Yeah, I am iffy on buying a car listed on Craigslist because of all the BS nonsense, but I haven't really sat through and sifted through all of it yet.
Yeah, I'll try Craigslist, too. Thanks for the tip.
I see random deals like that, but I just can't commit right now at this point in time.
Thanks so far guys.

Just like buying anywhere else, when you're ready to make that move be sure to get a complete inspection from a mechanic you trust, of course preferably a Lexus expert. No matter if it's ebay, craigslist, a dealer or your sainted Grandmother, nothing is more important than a complete check-up.

Why don't you wait till you are ready to buy and THEN look for a car, a few MONTHS is a long time, most people with a car for sale now don't wanna wait that long for a guy that MIGHT buy one several months from now, and by then there will be a plenty of others for you to chose from.
