i agree with ya, the car is nice. The rear quarter panel sucks but nice job overall. I have a smog hook up here in SD, costs my left nut but as long as i have my right im all good. It sucks we all drop so much into our cars we will never see. Also your cars up there are priced high, if you can get that take it. I am lookin at an sc300 here in san diego with a original 5speed with 113k for 5k. If i had the money and you were closer I would be down, or if you wanted a motorcycle im sure we can strike a deal. Either way I love what ya did with it...looks good.

All due respect man, I think you're missing some of the points made in this thread- it's so obvious you really love this car though, so I won't insult you with what I think it's worth. You paid a lot of money on a paint job, and that's awesome! But with it being wrecked now and needing new paint it kind of negates the value of it. That's great that it's a 97! But it's a heavily damaged 97- quarter panel hits are the worst. Even the front bumper will need work. I could easily see this body work eclipsing $5k worst case, and typically buyers think worst case scenario (smart buyers).
Now on to the mechanicals. Mechanically it's a project car. A clean 1jed 97 that runs great is worth maybe $15k on the high side. As said earlier if you're serious about selling it, button up all the mechanical issues. I feel for you though if you're out of money for this- was the car under-insured?
If you can afford it, keep it. You obviously have a really strong attachment to this car and believe me I get that. Unfortunately it's unlikely it will have the same value to a potential buyer.
