2001 LS430 - Very Clean (Huntington Beach)
I'm selling our 2001 LS430. It has about 103,750 miles. It has been a great reliable car. Very clean condition and looks great inside and out. Recently put on new tires (Bridgestone Serenity) which are very quiet. Car is fast yet gets great freeway gas milage. Call me at (nine four nine) four three six - five seven eight eight if you'd like to take a look at it. I'm near the Beach Blvd exit on the 405.
I'm selling it because I needed a SUV for work and don't have space for more cars at my house.
I can't think of anything wrong with the car. I have not replaced the timing belt. A friend of mine at Lexus said he's never seen a belt go out on a LS430, but if you go by the book, it should be replaced at 90K miles.
Asking $11,500 OBO. I've been offered $10,000 but I really think it is worth more.

Any opinions on the price I'm asking?

Putting your numbers into Edmunds gets me to 11-something private party. Are you using edmunds or KBB or NADA?

I think I already priced in the 90K service at my asking price. The Private Party value on a 2001 LS430 with my milage is $12,052. The 90,000 mile service is about $750 but you can have the timing belt done for about $350. Taking off the full $750 price from the private party price comes out to $11,302. So that is why I think it has a value closer to $11,000 than $10,000 factoring in the cost for a timing belt service.

It is hard to know if the valuation prices on-line are accurate or not. Personally, I would take this car any day over many new cars costing double my asking price. If you shop around you can get nice luxury cars in SoCal for a good price. Naturally you take some risk buying any used car, but the LS430 is such a bullet proof car that the risk is much lower than most other luxury vehicles. Unless I had a bunch of extra money to burn, I don't think I'd buy another new car again. I'd rather pay $20,000 for a used $80,000 car with some miles on it over what I could buy new for $20,000! That way I can leave beyond my means while staying in my means.

sorry if you mentioned this, but what is the exterior and interior colors, I think I know but it's actually kind of hard to tell for sure.
In any case, craigslist brings out all the lowballers and crooks. I know there are good buyers there too but it certainly brings out the crooks.
You may want to put it on autotrader. I for one look and like autotrader much more and the target audience for this car might also.

I probably will put it on AutoTrader soon. Was trying free option first but probably a lot more exposure on AutoTrader.
