Default 1993 SC300 Turbo 5-spd (needs work)

I've owned this car since 2005 and am now offering it up for sale. I will try to provide as much information as possible about the history of this car, the condition of the car, etc.

Basic info about the car
1993 Lexus SC300
Original 5-speed car
207k miles (Approximate)
Pearl White Exterior
Tan Interior with Leather Seats

Performance Modifications
-.70 A/R Garrett Turbo
- Boostlogic 2.5mm Headgasket
- Arp Head Studs
- Tube and Fin Large Intercooler
- Aftermarket BOV (no brand name)
- SAFC II
- Boostlogic 525cc Injectors
- RPS Max Clutch (less than 14k miles on it)
- Lexus V8 MAF
- 38mm Wastegate (no brand name - 6psi spring)
- Downward facing exhaust manifold
- Wastegate vented to atmosphere, no dump tube

Body/Paint/Aftermarket Parts
- Paint is glossy and looks good for cars age
- Dime/Quarter sized indention in lower part of door
- Few scraps on front bumper
- Aftermarket spoiler (have seen this one on many SC's)
- Supra TT Chrome Rims and matching tires (2 are new, others are 50% or greater tread life, Sumitomo Brand)
- 2nd Gen SC300 taillights

Interior
- Carpet is fair, probably below average condition for the year/mileage, needs a good cleaning.
- Driver's seat has two large tears from age, below average condition.
- Passenger seat is average condition with no tears, etc.
- Driver's side door molding is cracked at top (same one all SC's get)
- Driver's side armrest is pulled away from door but still works, though door panel would have to be replaced as screw moldings came out.
- Rear seat (on bottom part) has a half dollar size hole (something stuck to it and leather part came off on removal)
- Sunroof works just fine.
- Dash Vents are cracked (common trait)

Controls/Radio/A/C
- Radio works fine, has 12 disc changer but not hooked up
- A/C condenser was replaced and converted to R134a, blows cold
- Heat works (car does have the bypass under the hood, forget name of switch)
- Climate Control display works, no blackouts
- All Gauges are illuminated except temperature gauge (fuel gauge has slight flicker)
- All power options work..windows, seats, etc.

Parts replaced during ownership
- Clutch
- Cam Seals
- Valve Stem Seals
- Intake Gasket
- Slave cylinder
- Starter
- Radiator (less than 2k miles)
- Timing Belt (less than 2k miles)
- Fan Clutch (less than 2k miles)
- Spark Plug Wires (less than 2k miles)
- Thermostat (less than 2k miles)
- Lower Radiator Hose (less than 2k miles)
- Water Pump (less than 2k miles)

Where I puchased the car
This car was purchased from another CL member who lived in Minnesota. The owner drove the car to Atlanta and I paid to fly him back home.

Maintenance things that need to be fixed
- Very front injector is leaking (closest to front of car)
- Adding a dump tube to wastegate would keep engine bay cleaner :-)
- 525cc injectors a little too much, car will stumble if you suddenly back off throttle. Idle is a little high to compensate for car trying to stall. 450cc would probably be a better fit for driveability.
- Intercooler piping sits below radiator support, which is a little low for my taste. (wasn't enough piping to run behind radiator support)

Turbo Kit Install information
Kit was installed by a Toyota Master Technician who is also a Lexus/Supra enthusiast.

Major things that need to be fixed
- Car needs headgasket replaced and heads shaved to insure they are smooth/flat. Please read below for explanation.

Very long story about why this car needs repair

Part One
I am a wedding photographer, I thought it would be fun to drive the car to the mountains for the wedding. On the way about 10 min from the wedding, the water pump started pouring antifreeze. We bought 5 jugs of antifreeze and limped the car to the wedding, disaster averted. Car is towed home.

Part Two
Mechanic replaces water pump, timing belt, thermostat, plug wires, spark plugs, lower radiator hose, timing belt tensioner, etc. Get car back, drive to work and car is overheating again, car is towed home. Mechanic replaces thermostat again as well as the radiator, no evidence of head gasket problems at all. No smoke, and no milky oil. Mechanic decides that maybe a hairline crack is in the head, and decides to flush system and run a sealer through it. Suggests this is a better option than replacing the headgasket, as no signs of head gasket issues are present.

Part Three
Life is good, drive car for 3 months without any problems, then all of a sudden the car overheats again. Mechanic now sees evidence of headgasket issues as pressure in coolant system keeps trying to build, did a leakdown test, etc.

Why am I selling it?
Since purchasing this car I've started the photography business, so I just can't see investing any more funds into a "fun car". I don't have the expertise to repair it myself.

Cost of Car/Conditions
Car will have to be towed by new owner, price is $2900.00 obo. Car is located 40 miles south of Atlanta, Ga.

Here are a few pictures, can provide specific pictures upon interest in the car:

Don't guess you would be interested in an 01' IS300 trade plus cash on your end? And I'm not looking for a lot.

Hey man, nice to hear from you. Yeah, the SC became my daily driver after the wife really didn't like driving it. I really hate the outcome of the car, but it's the best thing to do considering my new business.
