NO LONGER AVAILABLE.
It's finally come time to sell my 1992 SC400. It has been a fantastic car, but it needs too much now that I'm willing/able to do. Here are the details:
The car needs a lot, but if you're able to do the work yourself, you could save a ton of $$$ and have a very solid SC400. Given the issues with the transmission, I wouldn't try to drive it, so it would have to be towed or put on a trailer. I'm asking $1250 obo.

It's finally come time to sell my 1992 SC400. It has been a fantastic car, but it needs too much now that I'm willing/able to do. Here are the details:
- Mileage: 206,xxx miles
- Color: Silver Spruce exterior
- Exterior: Very clean body. It spent most of it's life in CA/AZ. We recently moved back to Michigan, but it spent the first winter in the garage. It has only seen one winter, so there is no rust at all.
- Paint: Due to the sun out West, it has considerable paint fading on the roof and rear bumper. It could definitely use some new paint.
- Interior: Leather needs to be replaced. There are a few tears and it feels like 19-year old leather. The driver's upper door panel has the typical crack.
- Lighting: The instrument cluster was redone by Lextech, but the tach needle has burned out. I also had the climate control LCD replaced and it looks new.
- Transmission: The transmission just started to slip a couple weeks ago, which is what has prompted me to sell it. I can pull it in/out of the garage, but when it heats up, it starts to slip and can't be driven. I haven't had it diagnosed, but there's a good chance it needs a new transmission.
- Rear Main Seal: I had this replaced a couple months ago and it doesn't leak at all.
- Drivetrain: It has the common driveshaft 'roar' when you get off the gas, so the center support probably needs to be replaced.
- A/C: I had the compressor, drier, etc. replaced about 2 years ago, but it's out of freon and I haven't found anyone who can recharge it. I would just convert it to R134.
- P/S Pump: The power steering pump has a small leak and is groaning pretty loudly.

Price drop...$1K obo. The car needs a lot, but I have done quite a bit over the last few years that you wouldn't have to worry about:
2010 - New Tires: Continental ExtremeContact DWS - only one season on them so far. I use snow tires in the winter, so they have around 10k on them.
3/23/11: Brake Fluid Flush, Power Steering Flush, Rear Brake Pads
8/15/10: New Battery (Sears Diehard International)
7/11/10: Power Steering Flush
7/24/09: New Timing Belt, Water Pump, Crankshaft Seals, Camshaft Seals, Drive Belt, Front Brakes, Valve Cover Gasket, Spark Plugs, Spark Plug Wires, Spark Plug Seals
2008: New Coolant Reservoir Tank, Radiator (including all hoses)
5/18/07: New Supra Lower Control Arms, New Motor Mounts, New front/rear Sway Bar Bushings, Steering Rack Bushings
I have receipts for all services and can provide a Carfax, if requested.
