To answer your question:
i am very involved but as most members on here....its always a combination of team work when it comes to cars.
Some things get done at one place some things get done at other places. Over all i have 2 shops that i trust with my cars for various reasons and provide business to them based on what i think they know best. And of course the dealer only for parts.
Also, thanks to such communities as Club Lexus and many other forums where groups of people with similar interests get together and help each other figure things out

I am not sure what you mean but if i was to take my best guess at whats throwing you off is the fact that the picture is taken at a low angle and you can see the screws that hold the lower piece under the doors.
Looked around to find the best pic of another one with the doors open and as you can see they are all the same! The screws are visible from a low angle and can't be seen from a standing position.
