FS: 1999 SC400 (low km, modded)
I've been an SC owner for almost 10 years, have owned 4 different SC's during that time. This one has been my dream SC from day 1, and I've finally attained in earlier last year. I never planned on selling it, but life priorities change, so I am forced to put it up for sale.
1999 SC400 (1 of 905 produced), Onyx Black, 92,xxx Miles, mint condition, no problems whatsoever.
Heres a list of the maintenance done; timing belt, water pump, starter, motor and transmission mounts, power steering pump, new lower control arms with bushings, new break pads, battery/alternator, and serpentine belt. Oil was also just changed two weeks ago, always used synthetic. Maintenance is 100% up to date.
The car also has a list of very well thought out mods. Nothing flashy, but modded the way the car should have come from the factory. Here's the mod list;
- Full header back custom exhaust. This includes PPE headers, custom Y-pipe, Vibrant ultra quiet resonator, 2.25" stainless steel piping, Tannabe Medalion Touring mufflers. There was a lot of research and work put into the exhaust to get the most power out of the car with an even power band through the whole RPM range. I get compliments daily about how nice the exhaust sounds – not too loud, just a nice deep growl.
- ebay BFI
- Megan EZ Street coilovers, fully adjustable height and dampening. No, the car is not 'slammed', but adjusted to a height that supports the best handling possible.
- Volk GT-C wheels. 18x9 up front, and 18x10 in the back. With freshly installed (at the beginning of the summer) Yokohama Advan AD7 street/competition tires in the back, and Bridgestone's in the front (Can get offsets and tire size if someone wants).
- Custom "Lance Spec" alignment that SC/Supra guys swear by. This alignment has been proven to be the best for street/track use that gives the best handling, along with longest tire life.
- Titan Sway bars, front and back.
- Dazien steering-rack bushings.
- Supra TT 3.76 gearing Limited Slip Differential. Amsoil Sever Gear in differential.
- Drilled/Slotted rotors.
- Custom Avery Berber front floor mats.
- Carbing Type 1 strut tower bar with master cylinder stopper.
- RX300 woodgrain steering wheel.
- 4500k/35W HID low beams.
..thats all I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm sure theres a few other things I'm missing.
The car dyno'd at 270whp (~345 crank hp), whereas stock 98+ SC's dyno at around 220whp. In the attached dyno sheets you can see the horsepower and torque lines are very similar, and the curve is very flat. Experienced tuners will tell you this is the type of curve you're ideally looking for when tuning a car. The car feels almost twice as fast as any previous SC's I've owned, which included another '99.
The car however, is not tuned. Once tuned it can gain another 25whp while increasing fuel efficiency, and if a manual transmission is installed the car would be close to the 400 crank hp mark. I was planning on throwing in an R154 in the coming year, but unfortunately thats not going to happen anymore
SOLD

FULL DISCLOSURE:
1) Car is a rebuild. The previous owner had crashed the car and broke the control arm, along with some minor body damage. Pictures below. Both rear lower control arms were replaced with new ones so the car drives true. My family works in the auto industry, so you can be sure I took the car to the best body/paint guy we know.
2) The car originally had an ugly Gold pin-stripe (which was painted over Purple by the previous owner). I spent $400 having it removed at the beginning of this past summer, but because the pin-stripe was under the clear-coat the detailers sanded below the clear-coat in a few spots (not noticeable unless pointed out in person, but its there). They told me that a good detailer can fix it, but I just havent gotten around to it yet).
..these are literally the only negatives with the car.

Merry Christmas bump!
Have had a few questions about the exhaust, so I've attached a few pics of the beautiful work. These are attached to the pricey PPE headers!

Bump! 2 people seriously interested in the car right now, but a potential sale is still a few weeks away.
FYI for those who are worried about registering it in the US. Had a guy from the NJ seriously interested in the car, we looked into the importation process for the car back into the US (it was originally from Florida) and a broker will charge around $450-500 to have it imported into the US headache free.
