1995 Lexus SC400 6spd $2400
SOLD
Well my plans have changed completely. So the journey i was going to go on with this car is now come to an end. Its 95 SC400 with a 350Z CD009. I bought the car 2 months ago. I was planning on keeping it for a little while but plans have changed. It was in rough shape when i bought it, i have cleaned it up a little but its still not the best.
the good:
low mileage motor
*most of the electrical works
body is clean(no rust, 1 dent in the rear quarter)
the bad:
Paint is from 1995.
**Transmission has issues
Horn does not work
instrument cluster is typical lexus
interior half way black, and missing a few pieces
passenger door does not open
Mods:
powered by maxx Coilovers
Custom catback(sounds great)
test pipe
pop charger
Celica steering wheel
350Z 18s
Memphis 4" in all corners
*Typical lexus electronics have had some issues. When i bought the car it had no heat and no sound system. I have fixed most of the issues by bypassing parts of the OEM harness. I have not cut or made any alterations to the main harness but the subharness that controls the Heat&A/C and the radio have been altered. For some reason the HVAC and stereo were not getting power so i have a relayed feed powering them. They are both working now.
**The transmission seems to have a bad input shaft bearing, so the 2 options are replace the bearing or replace the transmission. Your choice, another transmission runs for about $450 on Car-part, so they are relatively cheap. But the transmission does whine. The car drives fine and probably will for a while but it is loud. Clutch is also loud at idle. I was planning to change the clutch and replace the transmission at the same time but im not going to get around to it. But because of the difference in the location of the speed sensor(Nissan puts them in the diff and toyota puts it in the transmission), Speedometer does not work and subsequently the odometer does not work. I have been using the stereo for a speedometer as its GPS displays it on screen, its also more accurate.
Again the only reason this car is up for sale is because my plans have changed due to family issues etc. So i can no longer keep this car. The motor is mechanically sound, the exhaust sounds fantastic, it is a fun car to drive. I have a set of Varrstoen ES2 i can include for an added price, also a welded diff and an extra instrument cluster, and some black interior pieces. I will continue taking care of issues such as the passenger door in the mean time. This car has a lot of potential but does need some effort. I have all the lexus badges i was planning to put them on after i decided if i was going to paint the car.
I had started a thread here:

You can also refer to my CL posting(its pretty much the same thing):

Headunit not included but can be $2400. Motivated to sell.
