But the test car has some sort of fog light on the front bumper; and the headlight seems to have a slightly different shape. I suspect the final production version might look a little different.

Still, there's little doubt that they're the same cars, or at least the one being tested is the Toyota version of the same car.

Lexus joins exotic sports car world
By John McCormick / Autos Insider
DETROIT -- With a concept that combines brute strength and Lexus-like refinement, Toyota declared its bid for membership in the 200 mph club.
The LF-A concept is a vision of how Lexus might approach producing a high end sports coupe, said Jim Press, executive vice-president and CEO of Toyota Sales USA.
The LF-A delivers around 500 horsepower from a 5.0-liter V8 engine and should be capable of 200 mph, said Press.
The concept also points at a new design direction for the Lexus brand.
Nearer term, Lexus will launch the new GS sedan in 2005. A hybrid version of the GS will be unveiled at the New York Auto Show, as will a second generation entry level IS sedan.

Check it out...
Key Notes
-500 hp, less than 5.0L engine
-Less than 3000 lbs
-Top Speed, 190+ MPH
-The show car itself is two inches shorter than a Porsche 911 with a nine-inch-longer wheelbase. At 48 inches high, it is about the same height as a Ferrari F430; at 73.2 inches wide, it splits the difference between the Mercedes-Benz SL55 and the Aston Martin DB9.
-The minimalist approach is seen inside, too. There are few switches and ***** on the dash and center console, for example. There is no evidence of anything like those one-****-controls-it-all contraptions such as BMW’s iDrive or Audi’s MMI.
-Next Generation IS to be debuted at NY Auto Show
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm still curious as to what that little map is to the right of the speedometer... it looks like a track layout of some sort. Any ideas?

Datown,
On a high res pic of that shot, there are numerous tabs listed above the race track map. The one displayed there is labeled as "Circuit Mode" and the track is called JISpeedway. It shows times for the best lap and the last lap, looks pretty cool. And if anyone missed it, looks like that tach winds up to 10k...
