Thumbs up This months Motor Trend. Wantanabe wants the LF-A built

I didn't buy but Mr. Wantanabe, one of the head honchos at Toyota, stated, he wants to see the LF-A make production. Motor Trend did ask a very good question, "Toyota is doing well but not 1 damn sports car"

His reply was VERY SOON, WE PROMISE

I ain't holding my breath, but I am holding my $$$$ just in case.

I think it's going to take aim at the NSX that Acura is going to putting a V10 into...

With postmarket mods (should you so choose), this car will be a saint.

I would personally love to see LF-A make it into production but then it will make no difference for me since i have no funds to buy that super car

but i would much rather see SUPRA or some affordable sports car coming back.

I completely agree. Or even a manual IS350 / GS.

I want to see the LF-A built so bad!!!!

But I think it's risky. Aim too high or too low? Fits in with the product lineup or stands apart? Etc etc.

If Honda could make the NSX then Lexus could make the LF-A. I agree on 'build it and they will come.' Just don't have high-volume sales expectations and all will be well.

that's true, i don't doubt a single bit about toyota's ability to build a super car that will hang with exotic. they can, but they just don't, for profitability reasons.

hopefully with the ever so increasing growth they have now, they can sustain the little hit and build one super car to include that little crowd. that would be great. and most of all, definitely a division to push out high performance "versions" of their lineup just like what bimmer and mb are doing. that's going to be big imho

Yeah, but was the Supra ever really affordable? If I'm not mistaken, the turbo models were selling for as much as their Lexus SC counterparts towards the end of production. Not something your average family man or young adult could afford as an impractical fun car.
