So it is confirmed that Toyota will have 3 world premieres at the Tokyo Auto Show. The LF A is most likely one of them, the Toyobaru coupe possibly the second premiere, and third could potentially be an updated FT-HS concept.

Video of the LF A, SLS, McLaren MP4, and GTR Spec V on the same part of the 'Ring:

Pretty insane how much quicker the LF A is in and out of those corners than the SLS and GTR. McLaren didn't look like it was trying.

They might be counting that lame JDM Toyota Sai (a reskinned and rebadged Lexus HS) as one of the Tokyo premieres.

I really hope that is just a rumor, because it would make no sense to sell a rebadged, reskinned HS in the Japanese market, when the HS is already on sale there . The only way I can picture it is if it has a completely different body, interior, and dynamics compared to the HS.

Assuming though that the Toyota Sai is debuted, I'm not sure if it would count as a "world premiere" if the car is JDM-only.

Toyota at the show has 3 world premieres, and 2 Japan premieres. I would assume that the Sai would count as a Japan premiere if it is at the show.

So we have:

- LF A
- possible unveiling of production Toyobaru coupe
- possible unveiling of updated FT-HS
- possible IS-F "Evolution" unveiling

The LF A is pretty much confirmed. The Toyobaru coupe is highly likely, but the rest is equally likely so it should be very interesting.

I'll not get my hopes up so I can be pleasantly surprised or just not bitterly disappointed.

Right now it appears 99.9% certain that the Toyota Sai will NOT be at the Tokyo Show.

Here are the confirmed unveilings for the Toyota brand:

- Toyota will be showing the Toyobaru coupe as a "concept" (world premiere)
- Prius lithium ion plug-in hybrid (Japan premiere)
- FT-EV II (world premiere)

They will also have their F1 car on display.

Now based on earlier information, that leaves 1 world premiere and 1 Japan premiere for the Lexus brand.

That must then be the LF A world premiere and the LF-Ch concept making it's Japan debut.

Unless there are some unannounced surprise unveilings, which I doubt, we now have the full unveiling list from Toyota.

No updated FT-HS or IS-F "Evo" will be shown it seems, but it is still pretty amazing that both the LF A and Toyobaru coupe will be there at the show.

This just in:

Lexus to Display Two-seat Supercar and LF-Ch at Tokyo Show

Tokyo, October 7, 2009 — Lexus announces a revolutionary supercar and a compact-premium hybrid vehicle that will highlight its display at the 41st Tokyo Motor Show from October 24 to November 4 at Makuhari Messe in Makuhari, Chiba Prefecture.

Two-seat supercar (world premier)
This concept vehicle epitomizes the purest form of driving exhilaration and performance. (Details to be announced at the Lexus press briefing on October 21.)

--

One can only hope that by "concept vehicle" they actually mean a fully production-ready "concept". But if that's the case, why can't they just call it the production model already?
