Official LF-A(II) thread (Will debut at Tokyo Auto Show, Lexus details Oct 20th, 8pm)

I did know that MBZ was moving to the 6.3. But that still leaves the 6.0TT V12 as another engine.
Well if they ever decide to do an LS-F than yes they would need to develop another engine. The LS600hL already used the 2UR engine.
The 1GZ doesn't output much power especially for a V12 but the application is for the Century which is supposed to be a refined vehicle.
And I don't really know where I pulled the 2 engines for the F-series from. I was thinking that myself when I looked at my post.
The SC-F will not be the LF-A, they're different vehicles. One is a two seater and one is a 2+2 hardtop convertible (although there have been some testing done on a drop-top LF-A). Although I could see a retuned version of the V10 in both a SC-F and GS-F.

I would expect an announcement from lexus by now if they were going to introduce the SC....
I was actually hoping for more information about the LF-A and some more concrete estimates about actual release, production numbers, etc....

i dont get it. last year they made huge introductions...ES, LS, IS, GS hybrid...one reveal every major autoshow.
They didnt do anythign in chicago this year...the other auto show left is new york. It would be kinda dumb and they will overshadow themselves by not making any announcement at New York, with only detroit reveals.

id be interested in hearing the weight. and when they plan on introducing the production car.
my bet on the production intro = TMS07 or more likely detroit 08, with sales starting a year out, is-f style.
anyone want to bet on the weight? 3100lbs? i got over. who wants to take the under?

It's a bit too early to make New York announcements. Also watch out for a potential Geneva announcement.

^^
Yep, Lexus IS at Geneva was a key step for the expansion of Lexus Europe; LS/GS at Detroit is a tradition at the 'biggest show,' there were followup previews of the IS/GSh at NY, and then the ES premiered at Chicago...
...I expect that also we'll be seeing more premieres, etc. at Tokyo...
